DOT Compliance Check for ChatGPT
Check any carrier's public FMCSA record without leaving ChatGPT. Built by Long Haul Compliance for owner-operators checking their own DOT number, and for brokers, shippers and families vetting a carrier.
What it checks
- Whether the carrier is allowed to operate and the USDOT number is active
- Out-of-service orders
- MCS-150 biennial update status, plus the next due date calculated from the USDOT number
- Operating authority (MC number) status
- Liability and cargo insurance filings on record with FMCSA
- Safety rating, roadside out-of-service rates compared with national averages, and CSA alerts when current data is available
- A reminder of items FMCSA's public data doesn't show: BOC-3, UCR registration and Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse queries
How to use it
- In ChatGPT, open Apps (or the + menu next to the message box) and search for "DOT Compliance Check". Add it.Open in ChatGPT
- Ask in plain English.
- Check USDOT 1234567
- Is MC-123456 in good standing before I book them?
- When is my MCS-150 due? My DOT number is 1234567
- Look up Smoky Mountain Movers before my interstate move
- ChatGPT shows a compliance card with problems listed first. If something needs fixing, the "Get help" button goes to /dot-check.
What it doesn't do
It reads public records only. It doesn't file anything, doesn't access FMCSA accounts or the Clearinghouse, and isn't legal advice. FMCSA's public data can lag recent filings by a few days.
