Information we collect on this website

If you use a form, we receive what you submit. The contact form asks for your name, company, email, phone, and message. The help form at /dot-check asks for your name, phone, email, USDOT number, and what you need help with. If you opened that page from the app, the form also includes the campaign tags on the link: utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign.

Our servers keep standard server logs.

This website loads an analytics script, /~flock.js. When you open a page it sends a page view to /~api/analytics with the page address, the referring page, your browser language, a country inferred from your time zone, your browser's user agent, and a session id. The session id is stored in a cookie named session-id for about 30 minutes.

DOT Compliance Check app (ChatGPT)

DOT Compliance Check reads public carrier records from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) through FMCSA's QCMobile API. The app is served at https://dotcheck.longhaulcompliance.com.

We cache a lookup for about 10 minutes. We do not store the carriers you look up beyond that cache.

The conversation happens in ChatGPT. How OpenAI handles that conversation is described in OpenAI's privacy policy: https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy

How we use information

We use form submissions to reply to you. We use server logs to operate and protect the website. We use the analytics page views to understand which pages are visited. We use FMCSA's public records to show the check inside ChatGPT.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

Form messages are emailed to info@longhaulcompliance.com. The compliance check requests public records from FMCSA. ChatGPT conversations are processed by OpenAI. The New Entrant Starter Kit checkout is handled on Stripe at buy.stripe.com; card details are entered there, not on this website. Analytics page views are sent to this site's analytics endpoint.

Retention

We keep form messages so we can respond and keep a record of the request. We do not keep a store of carriers looked up in DOT Compliance Check beyond the roughly 10-minute cache. The analytics session cookie lasts about 30 minutes.

Your choices

You can use the website without sending a form. Email info@longhaulcompliance.com or call (865) 992-8089 with a question about information you already sent. To remove DOT Compliance Check, in ChatGPT open Settings → Apps, choose DOT Compliance Check, and disconnect it. For information ChatGPT holds, see OpenAI's privacy policy.

Children

This website and DOT Compliance Check are not directed at children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
